The Referential Process and its Associations

DAAP

Content Body

A new version of the Discourse Attributes Analysis Program (DAAP02.4) will be ready for distribution shortly. An outline, in the form of a presentation, showing the basic workings of the DAAP system, including the outputs, can be found in the file, pres3.pdf, listed below.

The new features included in DAAP02.4 include (a) better error tracking in the LOG file; (b) an on-screen warning as to the number of errors in the LOG file; (c) a new multi-dictionary including enlarged affect, reflection and sensory-somatic dictionaries, and including all words that have been scored for inclusion in these dictionaries; (d) a new output file showing types and tokens for each speaker; and a new version of disfluency, which will now include incomplete words, and repeated words and repeated two-word phrases.

The multi-dictionary includes the WRAD, whose description can be found in Bucci and Maskit, A Weighted Referential Activity Dictionary, which can be downloaded from the Papers page of this website. The other dictionaries are the theoretically based Positive Affect, Negative Affect, Mixed Affect, Disfluency, Reflection and Sensory-Somatic dictionaries; the descriptions of these that are used by the scorers can be found on the attached file, DictionaryDescriptions.pdf.

The attached file, DAAPTranscriptionRules3.pdf, contains the transcription rules for DAAP02.3.

The attached file, DAAP01.1_Outputs.doc, has a description of all 10 DAAP output files.

The attached file, Pres3.pdf, are the pages of a presentation of the DAAP system.
